On this page I am going to put a few pieces of information about me and my life. Everything written here will have some connection to the subject of the book, "Emotional Prisons".

Culture
I was born in England, and lived there until I was 25. Then I went to work in Saudi Arabia, I was there during the time of the Iranian revolution, and and stayed for seven years . In 1985 I came to America, and I'm still here! I settled in the Houston area, where I still live. My cultural lifetime experiences will enable me to provide a little color to "Emotional Prisons", drawn from my travels.
Academics
I have a Bachelors degree in Science from the University of London, with joint majors of Physics and Chemistry. I also have a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. The relationship this has with the subject is that I have been formally trained in observation, analysis and interpretation. This means that I might appear to have a slightly "clinical" approach to what I discuss.
What I do not have is any formal training in Psychology or Theology. Since I'm not an expert, everything you read is going to be IMO, (in my opinion).
Religon
I would regard myself as a theologically conservative Christian. I know Jesus, He is my personal savior, and I believe what He says. I regard the Bible as the literal word of God. Before I was a Christian, I was an Atheist and a "control freak" and didn't consider God as relevant in my life. I am the only Christian in my "family of origin". I have seen Islam at work in my seven years in Arabia, and I believe I have reasonably knowledgeable opinions on that subject. I have experienced spiritual abuse from other Christians, and seen legalistic and liberal/lukewarm approaches to God and His word at work in some churches.
Life
I was abandoned at age 3, an event which controlled my life for so many years, and threw me into an emotional prison. (You'll discover in the book, that it was circumstances that caused it, my parents had no choice, they had to save my life.) There are also generational issues in my family tree which I will speak to as they made my prison deeper. Like many people I have done things that I wish I hadn't, and it is some of these things that help me to understand what an emotional prison actually is.

Although the book is not complete yet, it is expected to be finished and published sometime in the first part of 2009. The author is available for teaching or speaking situations like conferences or retreats on the subject of emotional prisons.
