How Is The Book Coming Along?
Here I am going to post an ongoing update of where I am in the writing of the book, with some notes.

Chapter 1 - Finished 9/4/07

This chapter covers what an Emotional Prison is, and how we are designed by God.  We are a Soul with a temporary body, not a body with a Soul.

Chapter 2- Finished 10/6/07

Focuses on the general reasons we get into an EP, then talks about the inner design and workings of the Soul, and provides an in depth look at the Mind.  The Mind is the center of thinking, and is where knowledge, understanding and wisdom are found.

Chapter 3 - Finished 10/14/07

Looks at the Heart as the center of feeling.  Identifies the Heart as the place in the Soul where we hold our values, beliefs and attitudes.

Chapter 4 - Finished on 10/14/07

Is a thorough look at the Will, which is the center of action for the Soul.  The Will is where we fully connect to God, and has the three characteristics of choice, control and gateway.

Chapter 5 - Finished 12/13/07

I look at Soul development in a child from conception to the early years.  Then discuss the subject of abandonment and the damage it does to the Soul of the child, and how it can point them at an EP later in life.

Chapter 6 - Finished 2/7/08

This chapter is looking at the subject of child abuse.  This chapter covers what is going on inside an abuser, and how they are trapped inside their own emotional prison.

Chapter 7 - Finished 2/7/08

This chapter follows on from ch 6, but covers what abuse does to the victims, and how it points them into an emotional prison.

Chapter 8 - Finished 3/13/08

I introduce a method of analyzing behavior, called SPAR, which is an acronym for Security, Performance, Acceptance and Responsibility.  I show how it is possible to look at our actions from the perspective of how the Soul directs us.

Chapter 9 - Finished 7/1/08

In this chapter I cover how, in adolescence, we can be pointed toward an emotional prison.  I use the SPAR technique to understand six major behavioral characteristics commonly found in teens, and show the link to "acting out".

Chapter 10 - Finished 7/25/08

I cover the early adulthood period of a person's life,  I use the SPAR method to show how dealing with one of the five major choices we make as a young adult can push us toward emotional traps.

Chapter 11 - Finished 7/28/08

This is a short summary chapter.  It summarizes the first ten chapters and gives a look forward to the rest of the book.

Chapter 12 - Finished 8/26/08

Wow, I didn't realize what a big deal this would turn out to be.  This was to be about "religion" as an emotional prison, but it strated to get so long that I had to break it up.  This chapter covers Atheism (Humanism, Secularism and Rationalism), Communism and Occultism as religions that are also emotional prisons.

Chapter 13 - Finished 9/16/08

The second of three chapters about religion, this one covers Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism.

Chapter 14 - Finished 9/27/08

The last of three chapters about religion.  This covers the dysfunctions within the Christian world that lead people toward emotional prisons.

Chapter 15 - Finished 11/11/08.

The subject here centers around the three "love addictions" sex, relationship and romance.  It has the working title "False Intimacy".  Some of us, in the search for personal and deep intimacy seek to find it in pornography, fantasy and other sexually related destructive behaviors.  This chapter looks at the origins of this within the Soul, and what they do to us as we pursue them.

Chapter 16 - Finished 1/26/09.

In this chapter we discuss the way we get hooked on chemicals and other things we ingest, inhale or put into our bodies.  We investigate the body to Soul connection and how these chemicals initiate dependency.  The title of this chapter is "Additives".

Chapter 17 - Finished 2/11/09

I've called this one "Victimhood".  It covers how two attitudes of our Heart, blame and hopelessness lead us into an emotional prison of victimhood.

Chapter 18 - Finished 2/22/09

This subject is called "People-pleasing", and can be thought of as a focused view of Codependency.  We will see how our emotions lead us into this trap.

Chapter 19 - Finished 3/2/09

In this chapter I dicuss the touchy subject of "Perfectionism".  Sometimes our response to our disorderly emotional life is to create extreme order in our behaviors.

Chapter 20 - Finished 3/16/09

I've called this one "Risk".  It discusses the emotional origins of our desire to bungee jump, drive fast and gamble.

Chapter 21 - Finished 3/21/09

In this chapter I go over several emotional prisons in a more summary format.  I cover Work, Materialism, Vanity, Anorexia/Bulimia, Shopping, Cluttering and Entertainment.

Chapter 22 - Finished 3/23/09

This is a transitional chapter that discusses some things I call "overarching observations" about the actual emotional prisons I have covered from chapter 12 through 21.

Chapter 23 - Finished 4/4/09

This is the first of two chapters covering principles of healing, it includes discussion of God's sovereignty in healing, what our part is, what others can do and faith healing.

Chapter 24 - Finished 4/10/09

The second chapter on principles of healing.  It covers the timing of healing, discussion of relief of problems versus healing, preparing for healing, prevention of problems that will need healing and the truth that healing involves changes in beliefs.

Chapter 25 - Finished 4/20/09

The first of two chapters on barriers to healing.  It covers denial, unbelief, pride, unforgiveness and unconfessed offenses.

Chapter 26 - Finished 4/26/09

The second of the chapters on barriers to healing.  We look at shame, other gods, spiritual forces, isolation, history, ignorance and destructive attitudes.

Chapter 27 - Finished 5/6/09

In this chapter we look at the first four choices we can make to put us in a better position to be healed.  They are "Fear of the Lord", "Study God and His Word", "Obedience to God" and "Being Personally Truthful".

Chapter 28 - Finished 6/16/09

The next two healing choices are "Confess to God and Others" and "Develop Healthy Relationships".

Chapter 29 - Finished on 6/17/09

The last healing choice is "Capture our thoughts, feelings and purposes".

Chapter 30 - Finished on 6/26/09

This is a concluding chapter containing 10 of my conclusions about emotional prisons.
